Six months on the road. Twelve months since the spark of an idea first caught. Call it a double birthday, a wood-fired anniversary, or just one big excuse to celebrate – either way, we’re buzzing.

What began as a scribble on a notepad has grown into a beast of an oven that’s now seen more adventures than a touring rock band. In half a year of trading we’ve slung countless bangin’ Roma-style pizzas and proved that our oven isn’t just for dough. We’ve toasted Tandoori wraps, fired off wood-baked granola, sweet wedding pizzas, fluffy naan, rustic sourdough loaves and bacon butties that could bring a grown man to tears.
And we’re only just warming up. Autumn is already simmering with ideas – think rich Yorkshire casseroles, slow Mediterranean stews, lasagne with proper burnished tops, and a spicy chilli that’ll wake your taste buds right up. A tasting party might just sneak into the diary if we can stop eating the research.
Bonfire parties
The calendar’s stacked: bonfire nights, more weddings, a pair of 50th bashes (one up on the Brontë moors), and some cracking corporate gigs around York. Mondays are the new Saturday, weekends are all about prep, and we’re working our logs off. But it’s the best kind of busy.
Big love to everyone who’s eaten with us, cheered us on, or simply told a mate about the Woodfired Kitchen. From little acorns, mighty oaks – and mighty ovens – really do grow. Here’s to the next chapter.
